Therapy for Teens and Young Adults

Help for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues and school stress.

Build a future that helps you live your best life.

Counseling might be right for you if:

You’re a high school, college student or young adult that is struggling with finding your identity, unsure about the future (college, career, relationships), or are held back by fear of failure, and the need to be “perfect”.

Maybe you have friends but still feel alone, you feel your parent(s) don’t accept you or your choices, you panic in social situations or you just don’t like yourself and assume other people don’t like you?

You’re a parent of a teen that feels like they’ve tried everything to help your child and nothing has worked or you worry about a change in their mood, risky behaviors, or slipping grades? You’ve tried to talk to them but it just ends up in a fight or them shutting you out.

Counseling can help teens and young adults find their personal values and purpose, cope with setbacks, communicate better, increase self-esteem, have happier relationships and resolve past trauma. Parents can learn ways to support and communicate with their teen in a way that is effective and creates opportunities for a healthy emotional connection.

step one

Schedule a free, 15-minute consult call to meet via phone and determine if we’ll be a good fit to work together (or if you’re a parent of a teen under 18 we’ll chat first). I will offer to schedule your first appointment or if I’m not the best fit for your needs I will provide a referral. There is no pressure to schedule and you are free to take time to decide.

step two

For your first session, we’ll meet via video or in person and discuss what’s going on for you now. I’ll help you create goals for therapy, and we’ll make a plan of action. If you are a parent(s) of a teen under 18 I will meet with you first and then schedule a second appointment to meet with your teen.

step three

We’ll meet weekly or biweekly via teletherapy (video similar to Facetime or Zoom) or at my Murrieta office. Parent involvement is encouraged for teens. Length of therapy depends on you and your goals, but most of my clients see me for 6-12 months.
