Online Therapy: Flexible, Accessible, Effective

You’re are seeking a convenient and confidential way to receive therapy.

You’re a busy parent, or professional adult who finds it difficult to attend in-person therapy sessions or you just need flexibility in setting appointments that work around your lifestyle.

You prefer expressing yourself in the comfort of your own home (or other private space) rather than in a traditional office setting.

You’re comfortable using technology and have access to a reliable internet or phone connection.

Online Therapy might be right for you if:

  • Think of online therapy just like traditional therapy, but we meet virtually. Through video calls, phone calls, or messaging, you can receive professional support from wherever you feel most comfortable. It’s therapy that fits your life and schedule, without the commute.

  • While the setting might be different, the confidentiality, care, and quality remain the same. The biggest perks? It’s super convenient—you save time on travel, and you can talk from a place where you feel safe and relaxed. Plus, it’s accessible no matter where you live in California.

  • All you need is a stable internet connection, a private spot, and a device with a camera and mic, like your laptop or smartphone. We’ll guide you through connecting to our secure platform before your first session, making sure you’re all set and comfortable.

  • EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a therapy technique designed to help you process and lessen the distress from difficult memories. Doing it online, we use visual and auditory tools to replicate the experience you’d have in person, ensuring the therapy’s effectiveness.

  • Absolutely! Research and real-life experiences both show that online EMDR can be just as impactful as meeting face-to-face. We adapt the key elements of EMDR for the online environment to make sure your treatment is just as thorough and effective.

  • Your privacy is paramount. We use encrypted, HIPAA-compliant platforms for all our online sessions, ensuring everything you say stays between us. It’s as confidential as coming into an office.

  • Yes! Whether you’re nestled in a big city or tucked away in a quieter part of the state, our online services are a great option. All you need is an internet connection, and you’re ready to start.

  • Find a quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted. Check your internet connection and set up your device so that you’re ready to go. Headphones can help make the conversation more personal and private. Comfort matters, too, so set yourself up in a space where you can relax and open up.

  • Don’t worry, it happens! If there’s a glitch, we’ll try reconnecting via the same platform. If issues persist, we’ll switch to another mode of communication. To prevent any hiccups, make sure your device is charged or plugged in, and maybe have a backup like a phone handy, just in case.

step one

Schedule a free, 15-minute consult call to speak over the phone and determine if we’ll be a good fit to work together. There is no pressure to schedule and you are free to take time to decide.

step two

Before your first session, I will send you a link to the client portal where you’ll be able to complete and e-sign the initial paperwork. You will receive a link to the session where we’ll discuss what’s going on for you now. I’ll help you create goals for therapy, and we’ll make a plan of action.

step three

We’ll meet weekly or biweekly using the secure video link. Length of therapy depends on you and your goals, but most of my clients see me for 3-12 months. We’ll check-in on your progress and adjust based on your feedback and my best clinical judgement.
