You feel stuck in life—disconnected from the present, worried about tomorrow, and unable to shake the past.

The effects of stress & trauma live in your body, your beliefs, your nervous system, and in the parts of you that had to adapt to survive. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) helps calm your brain’s alarm system and realign your thought patterns, so you can finally release the hold of traumatic memories and move forward with greater ease.

I offer EMDR that’s more than just “protocol”. My work weaves together standard EMDR with Attachment-Focused, Somatic, and IFS-informed approaches for more complete healing. This allows us to meet you exactly where you are—whether you're working with a single incident or years of relational wounding.

EMDR THAT ADAPTS TO YOU:

  • This works well for things like accidents, breakups, panic, or other events that still feel hard to think about. We find the memory that feels “stuck,” and use simple back-and-forth movements (like tapping or eye movements) to help your brain file it away so it no longer has a hold on you. It's structured, focused, and deeply relieving. Often in just a few sessions.

  • Rooted in the work of Laurel Parnell, this version of EMDR honors the relational wounds beneath many symptoms—low self-worth, fear of abandonment, chronic overfunctioning.

If you grew up feeling unseen, unloved, or unsafe—or if you’re extra hard on yourself—this style of EMDR can help. We take time to work with younger parts of you and offer care that may have been missing. It's gentle and deeply healing.

  • Stressful experiences aren’t just stories we tell ourselves—it’s a felt sense. Somatic EMDR helps us track where trauma lives in the body: tightness in the chest, holding in the jaw, dissociation, shutdown. We bring in awareness, breath, and movement to help your system process from the bottom up.

  • IFS (Internal Family Systems) Informed EMDR. We all have different parts of us—some that protect, some that carry pain, and some that want things to feel better. In this version of EMDR, we check in with all of you. We make sure no part feels left behind or pushed too fast.

Common Questions About EMDR

(Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a structured therapy that helps the brain reprocess distressing memories so they lose their emotional intensity. Through bilateral stimulation (eye movements or tapping), your brain processes and integrates what felt stuck—freeing you from emotional triggers, negative beliefs, and old patterns.

    • You’ve been through something hard and still feel stuck.

    • You’ve done talk therapy, but you want to go deeper

    • You feel anxious, ashamed, or like something’s “off”

    • You’re tired of holding it all together all the time

If any of that sounds familiar, EMDR could help.

  • The effects of stressful life events can surface months, years, or decades afterward. We may not recall our past as “traumatic” but chances are if you’re dealing with common mental health concerns or even physical symptoms it’s caused by or exacerbated by unprocessed material from the past. EMDR is effective for many concerns.

  • Yes. Many insurance companies reimburse a significant portion of the cost of EMDR. I am an out-of-network provider and can provide a Superbill for you to submit for reimbursement . Check with your insurance provider about coverage for out-of-network mental health services. You can use the free insurance benefit check tool here.

  • The first step is simple: Fill out my contact form to Book a free 15-minute consultation. We’ll talk about your needs, answer any questions, and decide if EMDR is the right fit for you.
